Research Projects to support Faculty Members & Researchers and the Procurement of High-and the procurement of high-cost research equipment grant” (Project Number: 2563).
  • 2018-2022: “Metalasso: A platform for computational meta-analysis of Genome Wide Association Studies-GWAS”. ‘Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation’ [NSRF 2014 –2020], Greece.

The object of this project focuses on two general directions, with the existence of sections in the various points of the study:
    a) The upgrade of the JADBio statistical analysis platform to a comprehensive and automated tool that will additionally be offered through a web interface, which will be used to perform meta-analyses of data from genome-wide association studies (GWAS) with minimal input from the user.
    b) The development of algorithmic tools to support and carry out a study of the mechanisms of transcription regulation and the factors that influence it, with an emphasis on rare polymorphisms in the coding and non-coding regions of the genome and the use of the upgraded platform of JADBio for the their meta-analysis.
The action allowed the extension of the AutoML platform JADBio, accessible via https://jadbio.com/, which is leveraged to build predictive models targeting biomarkers, as well as expanding our knowledge of coding and non-coding regulatory elements of the genome and transcriptome through the development of various tools and studies such as https://diana.e-ce.uth.gr/mirgenv4/tool, the DiS-TSS and DeepTSS algorithms and automated workflows located on the lab’s GitHub (https://github.com/DIANALab/METALASSO_WP2)
